What is your trouble with the synthesis essay? Write them here, or respond to someone else's problem with a wonderful solution. This is a tough assignment, sure to expand the brain(we hope right?)!
The problem I have with writing this essay is I've never writing an synthesis nor have I read a synthesis. So I dont have a clear understanding of what it should be about or look like. I also am having a problem with starting it, I second guess myself that I might be starting it wrong and delete what I have.
Yes, start with similarities. Let's say you find three similar points. Those may become three paragraphs. Erica, don't even think about starting the writing of the essay. Just write it one paragraph at a time. Or come into my office and I'll look at with you.
I'm having trouble when it comes to quotes and including sources. When I enter information about the sources it tends to sound more like compare and contrast. Does anyone have ideas on how to put information in the essay with out making it sound like i'm comparing?
Hey Bcruz, I have also started my essay a piece of advice I can give you is to just make connections between all 3 sources instead of just "comparing them"

ReplyDeleteI agree with Erica. Are we just supposed to get similarities between the review, essay, and lyrics?

Also does the final draft have to be double spaced, size 12 font, Times New Roman?

Good advice, Karina.
ReplyDeleteThe final draft does have to be double-spaced and 12 point and I guess Times New Roman or something akin to that.
