Gauge your level of confidence versus your level of anxiety regarding your post-collegiate job prospects. Do you believe that the job market will turn around by then? Are you choosing a major based at least partly on the economic crisis?
I think that it will barely start turning. I am not choosing my major mainly on the economic crisis. I am choosing to become a doctor because i've always liked helping people, I'm not going to to decide differently just cause of the economy.
I do believe that the job market will turn around by then. At least enough so that we college students will find jobs after graduating. I am partly choosing this major due to the economy, because I know that there is a lot of need for social workers. I also chose this career because I like to help people, so its a double win for me.
I'd like to hope that the job market will be better then. I've been searching for a job since January 2009, which is one of the major reasons I'm back in school. I've chosen my major based off of growth prospect, stability, and personal interests. It has led me to picking manufacturing engineering. The biggest problem I have now a days is that you can't really get a decent paying job without a piece of paper (degree, certificate, etc.). There isn't really a journeyman or tradesman fields anymore; its all about getting a degree. Which isn't always the better thing. Sad, but true. Am I confident in the society rebounding eventually yes, does that guarantee me a job? No. Just my thoughts and tangent.
I am definitely not basing my career choice on the economic crisis. However, I do hope that by the time I graduate my field will be in great demand that way I can do what I've always dream of doing and make a decent salary.
i sure hope the economy gets better by the time i'm out of college. however my major so happens to be good for the economy. the good thing about nurses is that you can never have too many.
My choice of study is not because of the crisis. I woud love to be a teacher. I hope that by the time I am out of school I can become a teacher. Hopefully by then the economy is steady.
i think the job market will turn around. i want to become a doctor because thats something that i've always wanted to do. i'm not choosing this because of the economic crisis.
