SAN DIEGO – Three federal agents fired shots Tuesday as three vans filled with illegal immigrants tried to run the border at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, and four people were injured, three by gunfire, authorities said.

ReplyDeleteAs a Hispanic myself, the acts of illegal immigrants is shameful. Sometimes it's difficult to say that I am Hispanic because of the actions and choices others of my race choose to do. It's a disgrace to bring our culture,values and morals to a low standard. The border patrol made a wise and adequate decision because not only could the illegal immigrants risk there life but also all the other innocent people in front of the vans were in danger, while the vans try to plow through the border. It would have been chaos if they did get across. It might have led to a high speed chase and would have led to more deaths and danger
ReplyDeletewhen i hear about things involving the U.S borders I at first feel a tad bit upset because of the fact that the poor immigrants are just trying to start a new life here not meaning to hurt anyone. at the same time I they are breaking the law and indangering innocent people with actions like this. i am not blaming the immagrants for the whole ordeal but mainly the "coyote" which is the person who provides transportaion for the immagrants, they are the ones who are driving and made the decision to run the border. Those people are the ones who deserve to go to prison, they chose to do it knowing full well of the consiquences. The border patrol made the right decision to stop the vans right there, because if it had gone through it would have been a high speed chase, "well not that high speed because how fast can a van full of immagrants really go". a high speed chase would have resulted in more casualties. As long as the outcome of an action results in more surviving than thats the right way to go.

I think what you are both approaching is the difficult idea that thoughtful people often reach, that this situation is solved neither by a blanket closing of the border nor by an absolute opening of the border. The problems that drive people from Mexico to the U.S., that push them from there and pull them to here, don't seem to be improving in Mexico. What do we do?
ReplyDeleteI say one of us run for presidente of Mexico, joking joking don't take it seriously now. No really I think this whole building the wall is ridicilous if people really want to get in here they will just find another way. Just like people go through the dessert and swim across the river they chose to do those things we shouldn't have to worry about them it was their decision. If they think that the United States is worth risking their lives then so be it, there's really nothing we can do, kids grow up over there and in other countries hearing about how great America is and how opportunity is endless here.
ReplyDeleteSo to answer your question professor I say we purchase some of Mexico and call it Baja Cali once it belongs to us, we run some experiments of the land the people. you know just involve a whole bunch of scientist. Once doing that we make them feel welcome and be part of a great country ( the US).
ok i lost my trail of thought.....so yeah the border and not just the mexico-u.s border but others as well, we should just establish a system that screens immigrants like we did on ellis island when people where coming over from europe and stuff. and regulate it somehow we are not going to get any closer to solving Mexicos problems than we are to solving our own, especially with all these shananigans we have now.
The person above me is right. People I know that work for the goverment and could think outside the bun see that builing the walls is a stupid idea. People laugh at how stupid our government is. Dr.Schmoll I will tell you a story of someone i know and how it was so simple to come to the USA with no papers, sitting in a truck like a normal person with a visa.
ReplyDeleteWell I honestly don't know what we should do our government is corrupted. I know that for a fact. Someone I know crossed the border with no problem and not having papers nor a visa. How did he do that? Simple from what he told me is that the "coyote" knows people working for our government/ the border patrol and all they have to do is pay them and they will cross with no hesitation. Its expensive because there are risk involved but its is around 5 thousand dollars or higher to cross the border with the right connections. So i believe this cannot get controlled money gets you by many things. For example, the whole argument about Paris Hilton drinking and driving and did not get penalized the way an average human would! How did that happen? Money talks.. And that is the sad part of our country and any other if you have money you will get away from many things in life in most cases..
They even got the firefighters , they might be carrying lots of hot sousa.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the border is absolutely neccesary. It's unfortunate that some people decide to come here illegally because there are so many people who actually go through all of the hard work to get their papers straight and become citizens of the United States. It's not like it's impossible to become a citizen. It's completely unneccesary for people to risk their lives to come to America. I understand if they want to get away from the way things are currently for them, but the least they could do is do it legally just like all the other immigrants.

ReplyDeleteI disagree with gunnerprincess 10 it is not necessary its a waist of money! Why because if you read above me there are several ways to get into the USA. Most of the immagrants that have papers live here they just hid from the immagrartion and stuff like that. From my own family experience they come here to the USA with out papers and when they get here they start to fix there papers. And it is nearly impossible to become a citizen when your from another country or to even get a visa it takes several years. Just so you know a little bit of the "inside scoop"
