Hmmm, I wonder what this cartoon means...not just the words, but what is it actually saying has happened in the last 40 years?

  1. Back then when a kid got bad grades they would confront the kid, but apparently now they tend to blame the teacher.

  2. If kids got bad grades back then, their parents would punish them for it. Now I guess students aren't blamed for the bad grades, instead the teacher is.

  3. Teachers are the ones who are being blamed for not doing their job when a student does not earn good grades. This cartoon shows how ridiculous it has become for parents to not accept the fact that it's most likely the student's fault when he or she does not earn a good grade.

  4. this made me laugh at first, but this cartoon shows the truth about how dum people are becoming. They put more effort into trying to get out of doing what their supposed to then actually getting it done.

  5. People are seriously doing stupid things like this now and days. Parents won't blame the teacher for their kid having bad grades they will blame the teacher. Which is really stupid because the kid is the one who decides if they are going to get a good or bad grade by doing their work. This also doesn't just happen with school, it also happens with other things also.

  6. I agree with every one above.
Its the parents used to get mad at kids now its turned and its the teachers who hear it now.

  7. I don't believe it is so much a stab at how parents are handling grades and school, but a stab at society today and how the era of book reading to raise children instead of the traditional learning from expierence and spanking is affecting the outcome of children. We spoil and reason like they are adults when children need to be taught to behave, they need to know they have limits of which they can get away with . Parents need to man up discipline their children, and let them know it is not them who run the household.

  8. i also agree i think this cartoon shows how back then parents would blame their children for their failure in school. and now they have taken their child's side and blaming it on the teachers.

  10. It is saying that parents used to have respect for teachers and wanted there kids to have to work for there educations. Now parents just want teachers to give them there grades so that they can succeed without trying

  11. So, you are all brilliant, and Karina, if your mom still bugs you about grades, it explains why you are such a good student. (of course, the teacher takes the parent's side)
On a more serious ntoe, when you are all parents, what are you going to do differently to change this horrible aspect of our culture?

  12. This picture is very sad but true. It shows how parents are persuade by their young that they are angelic. The parents now and days are catering to their childrens every needs.
